EDITORIAL STANDARDS

How LocalBellingham reports, updates and corrects local information.

Useful local publishing depends on being clear about sources, sponsorships and what can change after publication.

Independent local guide

LocalBellingham is part of the Local Network, an independent group of city guides built to help residents and visitors make practical local plans. We are not the City of Bellingham, a tourism bureau or an event organizer.

Source-linked reporting

History and planning stories should rely on identifiable public, institutional or primary sources whenever practical. Useful source links appear with stories so readers can check the underlying material.

Events are discovery, not the final authority

Event feeds combine public listings from local sources. Dates, times, prices, weather plans and venue rules can change after we publish them, so event pages preserve organizer links and tell readers to verify before traveling.

Automation helps with routine publishing

We use automated tools to help gather, organize, format, test and refresh public information. Automation is not treated as an official source. The goal is to keep repetitive publishing work efficient while keeping source links, verification notes and editorial context visible.

Advertising stays separate

Paid placements are clearly labeled. A sponsor does not buy a favorable historical claim, fake ranking or altered factual event listing. Sponsored inventory is sold around useful editorial and planning content, not in place of it.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, outdated detail, broken source or misleading description, email curb2close@gmail.com. Include the page URL and the detail that needs review. Material corrections should be made directly in the underlying guide or feed rather than hidden in comments.
